Colchester City Council Preferred Options Local Plan Regulation 18 Consultation 2025
Policy PP30: Land South of Long Road, Dedham
Representation ID: 12999
Received: 13/01/2026
Respondent: Dedham parish Council
Dedham Parish Council support the proposed 15 dwellings. However the Council wishes to note that an important consideration needs to be to ensure that the majority of the dwellings were affordable houses for many people in the local area. This means ideally a good number of the houses should be for social housing.

Colchester City Council Preferred Options Local Plan Regulation 18 Consultation 2025
Policy PP37: Land north of Park Lane, Langham
Representation ID: 13002
Received: 13/01/2026
Respondent: Dedham parish Council
Dedham Parish Council would like to object to this major development. The Council feels that this major development has major implications not only for Langham but also for surrounding villages. There is currently not the infrastructure to support such development particularly in terms of water, sewage and other basic amenities.
A major consequence for Dedham is that Black Brook which runs from Langham through Dedham into the river stour will be significantly affected by the housing development with potentially major outflows which could result in significant flooding in Dedham.
